Fast travel unlocks after the later General Lothaire, The Eagle Bearer fight outside the Abandoned Church. Enter the church afterward and interact with its Lantern to activate travel between discovered, kindled Lanterns.
Lothaire's earlier scripted defeat is not the unlock encounter. During the opening route, kindling Lanterns records destinations but does not activate teleportation. Travel begins at a Lantern, rather than from anywhere on the map.
Unlock and use fast travel
- Follow the main route to the later Lothaire battle outside the Abandoned Church and defeat him.
- Enter the church through the entrance behind the arena, finish the reunion dialogue, and interact with the church Lantern. The game explains that travel between discovered Lanterns is now available.
- At any kindled Lantern, interact or rest and select the travel option.
- Choose a region, select a discovered Lantern within it, and confirm. Use the dedicated Abandoned Church option when you want to return directly to the hub.

Choose a region and discovered Lantern destination from this menu.
Missing options or destinations
| Situation | What to check |
|---|---|
| No travel option during the opening areas | Continue to the later Lothaire victory and activate the church Lantern |
| A region is available but a particular Lantern is absent | Visit and kindle that Lantern; reaching the region does not discover every destination |
| You kindled Lanterns before the unlock | Those earlier discoveries can become destinations after church activation |
Backtracking to blocked routes
New abilities such as Grapple and Shield can open routes that were inaccessible on your first visit. Note the region and nearby landmark, then travel back to the closest discovered Lantern after obtaining the required ability. You still need to traverse the local path to the obstacle.
Quest-journal imagery can help identify the relevant region when written directions are limited. Compare it with familiar locations and the Lantern menu, then explore locally for the objective. Fast travel provides a return point; it does not automatically locate quest targets.
